Humanitarian Aid consisting of sanitary packages and household needs packages, non-perishable food and drinking water arrived to people who need it in the Al-Bakir district of Mosul in the middle of December.

In Palestine, young people learn how to apply for a job

Final training of Palestinian students took place at the universities in Bethlehem and Birzeit in December. During a six week period, young people obtained the necessary skills for stepping out of the academic world in order to successfully enter the labour market.

Never Christmas in Syria

At times it seems it is always winter, never Christmas in Syria. For half a decade the people have suffered from the cruel winds of war. Millions are without homes. Even those with shelter have no heating or electricity. Our own Caritas staff burn their furniture to stay warm. Those schools still open can’t afford fuel – the children are wrapped up in heavy blankets as they sit at their desks. Read more on caritas.org.

We are all with Aleppo

"Peace is possible" campaign in Syria.

Caritas Internationalis is renewing its call for peace in Syria. The Syrian government is now in control of East Aleppo. There is international concern over the plight of the 250,000 civilians who were thought to remain in there. Caritas is making emergency funds available to provide aid to those caught in the conflict in Aleppo. Caritas is calling for an immediate end to the conflict, that humanitarian aid reaches those in need and that the lives of civilians are protected. Read more on caritas.org.

A Training Center Opened in Siem Reap

Caritas Czech Republic, along with its organization Essential Personel Cambodia, opened with much festively, the first center of professional education for young people with disabilities in the town of Siem Reap in the north-western part of Cambodia. The Ministry of Labor and Professional Vocation along with representatives of the local governor were among the special guests who attended the event on 8th December.

Christmas for Ukrainian Children

Christmas presents for more than 300 Ukrainian children filled up a lorry of the Caritas of the Archdiocese of Olomouc (CAO). The lorry went abroad on Tuesday, 13th December 2016. The children will unwrap the presents during the Ukrainian Christmas – on 5th and 6th January. They are from socially disadvantaged families, from children’s homes or they had to abandon their homes due to the military conflict in the east of the country…

Caritas Serbia leads inclusion work for people with disabilities in South Eastern Europe
