Matte went back to agriculture again after ISIS destroyed his farm

Caritas Czech Republic is providing immediate and stabilization aid for vulnerable communities in Mosul District, of Ninewa governorate. We support the farmers with trainings and giving them small grants to help them stand on their own two feet again. Matte is one of the farmers in Ninewa that we supported.

Way to Home: Caritas Czech Republic Supports Deinstitutionalization Process in Georgia

Although the deinstitutionalization process in Georgia began in 2011, it still has not been finished. In 2020, thanks to the financial support from Czech Development Agency, Caritas Czech Republic elaborated a deinstitutionalization strategy and an action plan in close cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Georgia, and took the responsibility to provide community-based homes and services for persons with disabilities (PWDs) living in two large boarding homes under the state care.

We want to spread a positive message through music, says a refugee music band in Zambia

Caritas Czech Republic in Zambia helps refugees who have fled here mainly from neighboring countries due to violent conflicts. In Zambia, they often live in one of the large refugee settlements of Mayukwayukwa, Meheba and Mantapala, as well as in Lusaka. And it is in Lusaka where we have focused on supporting young refugees and opened youth friendly corners to offer the youth a place to spend time in a meaningful way. A music group called Strong Youths was formed in one of these centers.

Our Logistics Assistant, Shirman Mohammed, is 25 year old. He is from the Syrian town of Qamishlo and began his Internship with Caritas Czech Republic in Iraq September 2020. He is currently enjoying his one-year anniversary. We spoke with him about his year with Caritas and how he became a Logistics Assistant.
