MIND signals the end of holidays

The WeMind festival - Stories of people on the move, took place on Saturday, August 29th, the last summer holiday weekend, on Střelecký Island in Prague. It’s main mission was again to present individual stories of inspiring personalities who connect the world.

In 2017, twelve European charities took on development cooperation and its connection to migration, thus launching the international MIND project. After three years of intensive cooperation, and on the occasion of the end of the project, we decided to celebrate our hard efforts and successes accordingly, thus, the WeMind festival was created.

Diverse program at the WeMind festival

The festival program had the same theme as in the entire past past three years of the project, so it was packed with various activities. There were lectures and panel discussions which alternated with workshops, Live Libraries and other artistic performances in the form of dance, theatre and concerts. In every corner of Střelecký Island, visitors were greeted by a variety of activities representing the issue of migration and sustainable development, from many different, surprising individual stories.

Most of the guests were experts, artists and cultural life personalities. Many of the performers were migrants. Střelecký Island was proud of the large participation of so many interesting people from home and around the world - Yemi AD, Do Thu Trang (Asian), United Flavor Sound System, DJ Gadjo.cz, Petra Ezzeddine, Justin Lavash, Augustine Dunn, Tigran Hovakimyan, Batala Prague, as well as a performance from DAMU students and others.

WeMind provided entertainment for both children and adults

Everyone enjoyed themselves throughout the afternoon. In addition to an interesting program, there were also snacks and coffee from Cocovanka. We hadn’t forgotten our youngest visitors; a number of activities were waiting for them, led by the children's corner, which was in charge of the Young Caritas coordinators. The most popular were the production of badges and canvas bags, lessons in the rhythm of swing and spraying graffiti.

We would like to thank all the visitors who arrived in large numbers on Saturday, despite the bad weather. It was our great pleasure to end the project in such a festive spirit, especially in the company of all partners, friends and the general public, to whom our topics are close.
