Caritas appeals for help on behalf of Gazans

Caritas is launching an emergency appeal to help the people of Gaza who are suffering the effects of a two-week conflict. (Give now to the appeal). Following attacks by Israel, over 600 Palestinians have died and over 100,000 people have fled their homes to seek shelter elsewhere. Twenty-seven Israelis have been killed in the conflict. Integration of former Angolan refugees in Zambia

Since the 1st of July 2014, Caritas Czech Republic has been securing the self-sufficiency of Zambian households and Angolan families in the areas of Mayukwayukwa and Meheba in Zambia. These families have been coming to Zambia as refugees since the 1960s.

Cholera outbreak in Eastern Equatoria in South Sudan

In the middle of May 2014, a cholera epidemic broke out in Juba (the capital city of South Sudan) and its surrounding areas. The local Ministry of Health, together with others partners (UNICEF, WHO, etc.), began immediately to resolve the situation and eliminate the spread of this dangerous bacteria diarrhoea. Caritas CR also participated to help the situation South Sudan.

Caritas Czech Republic engages volunteers in home care services

Last year, Caritas Czech Republic helped open two home care centres in the north of Moldova. In addition to the basic building and equipment, it was also necessary to secure enough trained health workers, which would not be possible without the significant participation of local volunteers.

Caritas CR supports Philippine schools in Basey

Exactly eight months have passed since the typhoon Haiyan (locally known as Yolanda) struck the Philippines, leaving large destruction in its wake. Haiyan travelled from the southern part of the island of Samar and turned to the west in the early morning, hitting Basey. In this area, Caritas Czech Republic (CR) supports the activities of the Centre for Social Action Diocese of Calbayog (DSAC) and especially equipment to local schools.

Caritas CR launched a fundraising campaign for the families of the fallen paratroopers from Afghanis

In connection with the death of five paratroopers, Caritas CR launched a fundraising campaign to help the relatives of these brave individuals. Comrades in arms gave rise to this act. The collection is intended as an expression of appreciation for their work and for the principles of freedom and democracy this foreign mission defended.
