Caritas delivered 1,5 tons of Christmas presents to Ukraine

Christmas for Ukrainian Children

Christmas presents for more than 300 Ukrainian children filled up a lorry of the Caritas of the Archdiocese of Olomouc (CAO). The lorry went abroad on Tuesday, 13th December 2016. The children will unwrap the presents during the Ukrainian Christmas – on 5th and 6th January. They are from socially disadvantaged families, from children’s homes or they had to abandon their homes due to the military conflict in the east of the country…

Caritas Serbia leads inclusion work for people with disabilities in South Eastern Europe

Stanislav Hocevar, Archbishop of Belgrade and President of Caritas Serbia, opened the Regional Conference on Welfare and Active Social Policies that Caritas Serbia organised last 21-22 September. Caritas sends financial aid for hurricane victims in Haiti

Caritas Czech Republic gives 300,000 CZK to help victims of hurricane Matthew which hit the island state of Haiti. „The amount is determined for supporting schools and purchase of humanitarian assistance,“ says Lukáš Curylo, Director of Caritas Czech Republic.

The Catholic Church through its social action arm, the National Secretariat for Social Action (NASSA)/Caritas Philippines, recognized the heroism of supertyphoon Yolanda survivors from the nine worst-hit provinces during the third Yolanda commemoration activities held today in Leyte.

Caritas empowering communities to become resilient against disasters

The village of Dajc in northern Albania was flooded in March 2013. This was the third time within less than five years. Heavy rainfalls in the mountains and a bad management of hydroelectric power plants caused the river Buna to once more burst its banks and, within some hours, to transform the village and the surrounding land into a huge lake.
