In Zambia took place an official launch of CCR´s agricultural projects to which the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Zambia Mr. Radek Rubeš, the Head of the provincial administration Mr. Simuchi and representatives of all the districts involved were present. This  project is funded by the Czech Development Agency until 2021.

Caritas Czech Republic jointly launched the Agribusiness for LIFE project with Njovu Zambia’s Integrated Farming project both funded by the Czech development Agency. The launching of the two Agricultural Projects of the Czech Development Agency in Western Province was held at Country Lodge in Mongu on 14th August 2018 and successfully attended by relevant partners and stakeholders including key government line ministries of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries as well as the department of Cooperatives. Mr.  Susiku Kamona the District commissioner for gave the welcoming remarks.

The event was officiated by the Ambassador of Czech Republic to Zambia Mr. Radek Rubeš who gave a speech on the Partnership of Czech Republic and the government of Zambia and how it intends to focus on Agriculture in the next five years. The guest of honor, the Permanent Secretary of Mongu Mr. Sibanze Simuchoba graced the occasion and officially launched the project. This was followed by presentations from the implementing organizations outlining the general overview of the two projects. These were given by the Head of Mission Ms. Tea Tihounova representing Caritas Czech Republic and the Njovu director Mrs. Vendula Tembo.

The Agribusiness for LIFE project will be implemented in 4 districts of Western province including Mongu, Limulunga, Nkeyema and Kaoma as well as Mumbwa district in the Central province. The project will target 125 medium scale farmers per district and 22 Cooperatives with an aim of improving agricultural productivity and increasing the income through capacity building, value chain development and access to markets from 2018 to 2021. The main partners in the implementation of this project will be the Lima Links, Big Terra Alpha and the Czech University of Life Sciences.
