Caritas CR is active mainly in Southeast Asia, namely in Cambodia and Philippines. Caritas also helps in Central Asian Mongolia and after the earthquake in April also in South Asian Nepal.

In the past Caritas CR was active in Afghanistan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Senegal, Sri Lanka or Japan.   

Caritas Czech Republic launches a fundraising appeal to aid the tsunami victims in Indonesia

On Friday, 28 September the Indonesian island of Sulawesi (or Celebes) has suffered the most intensive of earthquakes so far, with a force of 7.4 on the Richter scale. The subsequent tsunami wave has taken the toll of hundreds of human lives; the total number of affected people could reach several hundreds of thousands, according to some estimates even two million. Caritas Czech Republic has therefore launched a fundraising appeal to support the victims of the tsunami as well as the restoration of the country.

Thesis about rice in Philippines was awarded

The research paper entitled “Rice and Vegetable Value Chains Affecting Small-Scale Farmers in the Philippines” authored by Dr. Buenaventura Dargantes, Cheryl Batistel, and Joviel Teves and published by Caritas Czech Republic was cited as an international book publication by the Visayas State University.

Two years after the earthquake in Nepal, Nirjala again believes in the future

Nepal was struck by devastating earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale on April 25, 2015. Several thousand people have died and many people were injured. The tragedy has caused enormous material damage, especially in the Sindhupalchok region. Caritas Czech Republic together with Caritas Swiss and their partners support the renovation of primary and secondary schools here.
