This project’s aim is to make it easier for children to enter the first grade of elementary school. In 2009, preschool education takes place in four reconstructed village children’s centres, which are attended by 320 children from ages of 4 to 6.
Provided care is focused on an individual approach to children, integration of socially disadvantaged children and of children with special needs as well as on active involvement of parents and local communities in preschool education.
The project, which has been implemented since 2006, is based on an individual approach to the child. One of the main objectives of the project is to prepare the children for entering the first grade of primary school.
To ensure high-quality preschool education centers, teachers are trained regularly. Twice a year, teachers participate in training provided by foreign specialists of pre-school education. In early 2009, our teachers also attended a special seminar organized by the Ministry of Education of the Chechen Republic, and the received state certificate acknowledging their expertise in pre-school education.
Preschool education centers are funded by the Charity network, particularly from Caritas Switzerland. The project has a long-term strategy and its sequel is planned for the next few years.
