Turecko slepá mapaIn February 2023, a devastating earthquake struck Syria and Turkey, claiming nearly 60,000 lives. Millions of people in the affected regions were left without a roof over their heads. We have been operating in the Turkish–Syrian border area since 2013, which enabled us to begin providing assistance on the ground immediately.

Together with our partner organisations, we were involved in delivering basic material aid in the affected areas, including food, drinking water, hygiene supplies, as well as warm clothing and blankets. We also provided shelter and constructed sanitary facilities. Caritas Czech Republic assisted people affected by the earthquake in Syria as well. In response to the disaster, we launched a fundraising campaign to support Turkey and Syria.
