The purpose of the project is to improve Chechen communities’ development with local inhabitants’ active participation and material aids.
Village inhabitants involved in small village committees engage themselves in finding solutions to problems and deficiencies in individual villages. Material and equipment is purchased by Caritas CR, and all the work is then done voluntarily by local inhabitants.
Caritas CR, in cooperation with the local partner Pozitiv implements these development projects in rural communities of Chechnya. The villagers organiz into small village committees, and gather to identify problems or weaknesses in their villages and seek solutions.
In 2008 the project was implemented in eight Chechen villages and actions includes the construction of playgrounds, construction of a fence around the hospital, launching a football field, a fitness center equipment, sports equipment, etc. The material and equipment purchased by Caritas CR, then the work is done by local residents.In 2009, the activities were taking place in four Chechen villages and comprised building of a duct, a road, repair of playgrounds, planting of greenery, implementation of street lights and reconstruction of a library and a reading room including.
