Since 2013, Caritas Czech Republic supports in Moldova the prevention and treatment of diabetes (diabetes mellitus). Caritas Czech Republic originally focused on the capital city Chisinau, later expanded to five southern regions of Moldova: Hincesti, Leova, Cimislia, Cahul and Cantemir. Caritas workers in cooperation with the HomeCare Association organize regular trainings and awareness-raising campaigns, organize events to mark World Diabetes Day and also equip health centers with the required material (such as blood glucose meters, test strips, needles, etc.).
