On Sunday 7th December 2014 representatives of NGOs and state institutions working in the field of child and family protection arrived in Prague from Moldova. They met several Czech experts who shared their experience and introduced the Moldovans to models of their work functioning in the Czech Republic.
During the one-week study visit, the eight Moldovan specialists gained general knowledge about the way the system of child and family protection works in the Czech Republic as well as the methods and approaches to social services in both the private and public sectors. They also became acquainted with the tools and methods used in the field of foster care.
The representatives of Czech state authorities and NGOs provided the Moldovans with theoretical and practical knowledge of the transformation of the children’s social protection system in the Czech Republic, of the tools and ways the system works and the competences and tasks of the individual state participants. They learned about substitute family care and the role of NGOs in it.
The visit of Moldovan specialists was organised by Caritas CR through the project, “Qualification development of people providing social protection care to children and young people in Moldova,” which was funded by the Czech Development Agency.
