Children from Bendery set up exhibition of their handiwork

At the end of May 2015, an exhibition of objects made by children and youth in creative workshops organized in the local day-care centre, co-funded by Caritas CR, took place in the city of Bendery. Objects made by children from Rascov were also on display at the exhibition. This event was a testament to the engagement Caritas CR has already exhibited in this city, as it runs a day-care centre here as well.

Run annually, the exhibit displays the work of young artists who strive to show off the year’s best work. The director of the creative workshops said the following about the high quality of the young artists’ works: “The children don’t think about problems or rules. They paint straight out of their souls. The techniques we use are sometimes difficult. This, however, does not bother them. The main thing is to provide the children with suitable conditions and give them encouragement. The rest is easy.”

The museum’s visitors could admire mainly tied-dyed fabrics, paintings made using various techniques, stuffed toys or dolls made of cloth. Visitors could also watch the children using the tie-dye technique and try it themselves.

The PMRnews.org TV channel (for the original see here) ran a news report on the event, and an article was published in a regional newspaper about the Bendery day-centre’s daily operation. Besides the creative courses, the centre provides children and youth with warm lunch and helps them with homework and to learn proper life skills.
