The country gained independence on 9 July 2011. Since then, both the population and state authorities have been striving to build a functioning society based on peaceful principles, providing support in education, healthcare, and social services. Caritas Czech Republic focused its efforts in the country on assistance in two areas—Kimatong and Loming—ensuring access to water sources for rural communities.
