The death toll of last week's catastrophic earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria exceeded 25,000 people. And the number continues to grow. At the same time, over 5 million people have lost their homes in Syria alone, with hundreds of thousands more in Turkey. Caritas Czech Republic is helping to provide them with immediate humanitarian aid. A catastrophic earthquake struck south-eastern Turkey and north-western Syria on the 6th of February. Caritas Czech Republic released money from its emergency fund and launched a collection to help the affected people. The funds are already helping people in Turkey and Syria with basic needs.

A year of our help to Ukraine: How does Caritas Czech Republic support people affected by Russian aggression?

On the 24th of February, we will mark the sad anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Ever since then, the war has displaced more than 15 million people from their homes. Caritas Czech Republic has been helping from the very beginning.  Initially, we focused on the most urgent needs, such as delivering humanitarian aid and helping refugees. Thanks to the generosity of our donors who have contributed to the Caritas for Ukraine collection, we can help war-affected people.
