Meet the wool master reviving traditional wool processing in Georgia thanks to Caritas Czech Republic

To reach the village of Zemo Alveni in eastern Georgia, you have to drive along a narrow unpaved road. Two hours from the capital Tbilisi, a remote region awaits, where the traffic is jammed with slow-moving cows and herds of sheep graze on the vast hills. Their wool, which only a few years ago was thrown away and burned, now fills the premises of the processing plant in whose yard we are standing. It is processed thanks to the support of Caritas Czech Republic.

The war negatively affected her mental health. Today, Walaa from Syria is feeling better thanks our support

Over 6 million people have fled their homes due of the war in Syria, which has been going on for more than 13 years. Walaa and her two daughters have suffered the same fate. Shelling has driven them from their rural home to a refugee camp where they live in bad conditions. This has negatively affected Walaa's physical and mental health. That is why Caritas Czech Republic offered her a helping hand to feel like herself again.

The Froimciuk family had to flee the war in Ukraine but found safe shelter in Moldova

Tatiana and Igori Froimciuk, along with their children, were forced to flee the war-torn city of Mykolaiv, Ukraine, seeking safety in Moldova. Thanks to the support of Caritas Czech Republic, they have begun to rebuild their lives. Though the future remains uncertain, the family holds onto the hope of returning to Ukraine one day, dreaming of a stable and peaceful life ahead.
