More than 11 months have passed since the conflict in the Gaza Strip escalated. The war is also hitting hard on the West Bank region. Since 7 October, more than 600 Palestinians have been killed and thousands injured. Tensions and violence in the area are steadily increasing, depriving civilians not only of their lives, but also of their jobs and shelter. In the West Bank, as in Gaza, Caritas is also helping.

Last September a devastating earthquake struck Morocco, killing 3 000 people and affecting up to 300 000 others. Among them was also Fatima, who lost her house due to the earthquake. Only one room was left, unsafe for her life. She now lives in a tent. Caritas Czech Republic is still providing much-needed humanitarian aid to people like Fatima in Morocco

In rural Moldova, the majority of people living alone are elderly and often lonely. Young people are leaving Moldova in large numbers because of the poor economic situation. This leaves mainly the elderly people in the country, who are struggling with inadequate health and social care, but also with loneliness. Like 73-year-old Liudmila. But thanks to visits from carers from a nearby home care centre, she is feeling better.
