Nepal will soon mark the first anniversary of the earthquake

Nepal will soon mark the first anniversary of the earthquake which killed almost 9000 people on 25th April 2015. Thousands more were injured in a 7.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal's capital Kathmandu and its surrounding areas.

Caritas will hold a three-day solidarity conference in  Kathmandu from 25th-27th April for the anniversary. The event will look at how people are coping one year on, the successes and challenges of  Caritas’ work and how to build greater solidarity for the recovery phase of the earthquake.

Caritas president Cardinal Luis Tagle will attend as well as representatives from member organisations.
