Career training focused on getting a job is happening at Palestinian universities

On Saturday 8 October 2016, a course began at Bethlehem University designed for its students and graduates, where young Palestinians will gradually acquire key skills for getting a job. They will learn how to behave at a job interview, gain experience needed for a successful life and learn about challenges that could arise in the working process.

The training is organized by Caritas Czech Republic and Caritas Jerusalem and lasts 32 hours distributed into six weeks. Students of Birzeit University will also get the chance to participate in training that will take place during Sundays in October and November.

During the course, young people will be trained in areas such as leadership, building motivation and teamwork. They will learn how cooperation works in companies and develop their communication skills. They will be shown how to deal with their peers, their colleagues and supervisors, always with the goal they want to achieve. Participants will be taught how to write a CV and how to present themselves. Areas like time management, problem solving, creative thinking, confidence building or goals determination will be included.

The project aimed at employment support of the social week and graduates of schools in Palestine was supported from resources of the Czech Development Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the framework of the Program for Foreign Development Cooperation.
