Filipinos from Cogun village start producing their own buffalo cheese

On Friday, 21st October, Caritas Czech Republic passed the management of a newly built buffalo milk processing plant in the village of Cogun on the island of Samar to local residents.

Even though buffalo are commonlivestock in Philippine rural areas, buffalo milk processing is still sporadic. Buffalo cheese “keseo” is considered to be a delicacy.

The Ceremony was attended by Jaroslav Olša Jr., the ambassador of the Czech Republic in Philippines.

The project is finance by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Philippines and Caritas Czech Republic.
