I repair refrigerators for a living, says 25-year-old refugee Nicholas

For Nicholas, finding a job in Zambia is almost an unachievable dream. Although he was born in Zambia, he is still considered a refugee. That is because his parents originally come from the Democratic Republic of Congo, from where they fled in search for safety. They found a safe haven in Zambia, where their son was born. Thanks to the support from Caritas Czech Republic and UNHCR, Nicholas now has his own workshop where he repairs refrigerators.

Mukeya Fostinah Ntenda is a member of the Twikatane Savings Group in the Nchelenge district of Zambia. She is 39 years old and married with six children. She was among the first people to join the group. Temur Gugeshashvili together with his family started a new phase of life in Racha in 2008. Currently, he owns one of the most popular family hotels in the city of Oni and runs a woodworking workshop, in which he and his wife host children living in the villages of Oni municipality several times a week. A couple moved from capital city to the village and started producing natural wine

Levan and Eka are rare exceptions of people who prefer living in the countryside to the city. The couple left Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia, five years ago with the newborn Yona and settled in Levan's paternal house in the village of Sori of Racha. Little Isaia was born here. After overcoming the initial difficulties, the couple planted the first vines and laid the foundation for the "Ori Gvari" (two surnames) winery. Eka and Levan have a lot of plans, most of which are related to living in Racha.

There are many skilled craftspeople in Iraq, but they often do not have the means to open their own businesses. Like Meethaq. He had to flee his home because of the self-proclaimed Islamic State and struggled to find a living upon his return. Thanks to our help, Meethaq now has his own business as a welder.
