Ariunaa, a student at the National University of Ulaanbaatar, participated in a volunteer programme with Caritas Czech Republic. She organised significant events such as Earth Day and European Day, and discovered a deeper sense of community and purpose. Poultry farming is one of the fastest-growing agricultural sectors in Zambia. Despite its growth potential, it still faces several challenges. From disease outbreaks, to limited access to quality feed and veterinary services, to inadequate infrastructure, which poses a challenge for many small-scale farmers entering the market. Like many others, Caroline faced these challenges in trying to set up her business. Thanks to our support, Caroline now successfully runs her own poultry business.

Caritas Czech Republic will improve climate resilience of 4500 people in Ethiopia and provide them with access to clean water

Ethiopia, like many other countries, is feeling the severe impacts of climate change, which are compromising water infrastructure and leaving many without access to clean water. In Ethiopia's Abela Abaya district, locals have to travel for six hours to fetch water for their homes. Caritas Czech Republic will help people in the south of Ethiopia gain better access to clean drinking water while improving their climate resilience. Moreover, we will empower women to include them in agriculture and other economic activities.

How teacher Nataliia adapted to life in Uzhhorod after fleeing from frontline Kharkiv

Nataliia Storgalova from Kharkiv was forced to leave her hometown on the very first day of the war, February 24, 2022. She grabbed her children and drove away from the Russian border, eventually finding herself in the safer city of Uzhhorod in western Ukraine. The Kharkiv region is still being attacked daily by the Russian army.

Amid Syria's conflict, which has been ongoing for more than 13 years, Caritas Czech Republic has been delivering urgent assistance to the people in need. Now, we will provide access to potable water and improve hygiene for more than 6,500 people while also supporting  displaced women vulnerable to gender-based violence.
