Help people affected by the crisis in the Middle East

The security and humanitarian situation in the Middle East continues to deteriorate. Ongoing attacks and growing instability have forced more than 4 million people from theirhomes. Many have left with only the bare essentials and are now finding temporary refuge in improvised shelters. The need for immediate humanitarian assistance is therefore increasing.

The Caritas network operates throughout the Middle Eastern region, providing people with lifesaving support. Thanks to local staff who know the environment and the communities, help can reach those most in need quickly and effectively.

Funds raised by Caritas Czech Republic will be used to provide material assistance and other essential aid to people in the Middle East.

Airstrikes keep them awake, yet they help others. On World Humanitarian Day, we celebrate their work

Humanitarian workers help people overcome the most excruciating life moments, while risking their own lives. In 2003, 22 humanitarian workers were killed in a bombing attack in Baghdad. Every year on 19 August, we commemorate their memory, as well as the work of hundreds of thousands of other humanitarian workers around the world. This year, we prepared short testimonies for you, written by our employees from the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Zambia. Their work supports those who often perceive humanitarian help as their only source of hope.

The humanitarian crisis in the Middle East continues, half a million people remain displaced

Several months after the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East, the situation in the region remains insecure. Ceasefires are not respected, which continues to complicate lives of civilians. In conflict-affected areas, humanitarian conditions are critical, exacerbated by damaged infrastructure, disrupted services, and population displacement. In Lebanon alone, more than one million people were on the run during spring. Over half a million of them have not returned home yet.
