Moldova
One of the project's main goals is to improve the medical and psychosocial condition of people who are sick, elderly or handicapped. The project also aims to improve the professional capacities of those working in the field of home care, as well as informing the public about the home care model as a suitable form of medical and social service.
Currently, Caritas CR has trained, in collaboration with Association Homecare about 200 care persons and volunteers, and has built and fully equipped three daycare centres in the municipalities of Dorotcia Cahul and Chisinau.
These centers serve as a base for staff and also for treatment of patients. Each centre employs several fulltime nurses. Social and cultural activities are mainly organized by volunteers.
Duration: November 2007–December 2010, the project continues until December 2013
