Catastrophic earthquake in Morocco. Caritas Czech Republic launches appeal to help affected people

A catastrophic earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale struck Morocco on the night of Friday, 8 to Saturday, 9 September. Caritas Czech Republic immediately launched a collection to help the affected people. 3,000 people lost their lives, and thousands more were injured. People on the ground need immediate humanitarian aid.

Caritas launches appeal to help flood-stricken Slovenia

Devastating floods hit Slovenia in early August. It affected more than two-thirds of the country and killed four people. The water destroyed or damaged many houses and public infrastructure. The estimated damage now stands at EUR 500 million. Caritas Czech Republic is releasing money from its emergency fund and has launched an appeal. The proceeds will go to Caritas Slovenia, which has been helping on the ground since the beginning of the crisis.
