Development cooperation aims to help people get back on their feet and get a source of livelihood. We are also working on systemic changes in healthcare, social services and environmental protection.

5.4 million USD to help restore livelihoods in Iraq. Caritas enters new partnership with UNDP

Caritas Czech Republic will carry out a new project in Iraq with the financial support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). This is the biggest project not only in the history of our Humanitarian Aid and Development Cooperation Department, but also in the history of the European network of Caritas organizations. With the grant of 5.4 million USD we will help local people to restore their livelihoods and infrastructure in the Heet district, which has been damaged by a long-running war.

Climate and its changes are affecting all of us – developed countries, who take the biggest piece of responsibility for the current climate change happening, as well as developing countries who suffer the most from climate change. Caritas has made a great contribution to my son’s progress, says mother of a boy with autism

Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia has opened inclusive groups in kindergartens for children with autism and has been raising awareness of autism spectrum disorder in the country for the past five years. This April, the autism awareness month, Caritas joins the Autism-Europe “I can work, I can learn” campaign. Mother of a son with autism told us how her son's behavior had improved significantly thanks to the help of Caritas Czech Republic in Georgia.
