Psychosocial courses: Caritas Czech Republic in Ukraine

By the end of June 2014, donators will have contributed almost 1.5 million CZK to the collection fund “Caritas for Ukraine”. Caritas Czech Republic have used this money to indemnify the relatives of victims of the Maidan unrests, equipped four hospitals in Western Ukraine, opened 4 positions for psychologists, supported the running of a kitchen in Maidan and financed psychosocial aid training for Ukrainian psychologists.

Caritas appeals for help on behalf of Gazans

Caritas is launching an emergency appeal to help the people of Gaza who are suffering the effects of a two-week conflict. (Give now to the appeal). Following attacks by Israel, over 600 Palestinians have died and over 100,000 people have fled their homes to seek shelter elsewhere. Twenty-seven Israelis have been killed in the conflict. Since the 1st of July 2014, Caritas Czech Republic has been securing the self-sufficiency of Zambian households and Angolan families in the areas of Mayukwayukwa and Meheba in Zambia. These families have been coming to Zambia as refugees since the 1960s.
